Mozambique
Located in southeast Africa, Mozambique boasts a stunning coastline spanning 2,500km along its entire eastern frontier. Offering miles of untouched beaches, with exquisite tropical islands in the warm Indian Ocean, Mozambique’s combination of cultural richness and pristine beauty provides travellers with an idyllic holiday destination.
Mozambique's size is impressive, about 800 000 sq km in area (more than three times the size of the UK) and shares borders with six other countries. Two of southern Africa's largest rivers – the Zambezi and Limpopo, cut through Mozambique on their way to the sea.
Mozambique's distinct local style consists of a vibrant blend of African, Arabic and Portuguese influences, providing an invigorating contrast to the surrounding countries.
getting there
Whether you’re travelling via land, sea or air, Maputo serves as the transport hub for Mozambique and it’s both easy and affordable to get there. A number of international airlines fly directly to Maputo International Airport. Many visitors also choose to drive from South Africa to Mozambique in their own vehicles. However, should they wish to drive all the way to White Pearl Resorts’ Ponta Mamoli, a 4x4 vehicle is necessary.
Conservation & Nature
Mozambique’s wildlife is making a come-back with several parks and reserves, home to a wide range of fauna and flora. Its coral reefs are among the most untouched in the world, with vast underwater treasure coves teeming with sea life. With a number of designated marine reserves, it is a snorkelling and diving heaven. The country’s unique bird life also makes Mozambique a prime bird watching destination.
